Breaking down in tears on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Anne left viewers at home joining The Chase star with tears of their own.
One viewer tweeted: “Oh Anne don’t cry!! You have got this @imacelebrity #AnneHegerty #ImACeleb.”
“Watching #ImACeleb and every time I see Anne cry, or look upset, or sit at the side whilst other have fun, I weep inside. she is so precious and such a national treasure,” posted another.
A third said: “Anne deserves the whole world. Seeing her cry on national telly is a heartbreaking sight#imaceleb.”
“I just love Anne, don’t want to see her cry come on gal u can do it #ImACeleb,” wrote another.
A fifth added: “I can’t watch Anne cry, just want to give her a big hug #ImACeleb.”
“I feel like the entire UK just wants to give Anne a massive hug. Don’t cry lovely #ImACeleb,” gushed another.
Anne is currently placed at 5/1 to win the show, according to Ladbrokes.
The popular quizzer doesn’t look set to be going anywhere soon.
Anne is far down the list at just 16/1 to be the first celebrity eliminated from the show.
However, Ladbrokes have also placed her at 2/1 to become the first contestant to quit the ITV programme.
It’s not the first time Anne has cried on the show, with the hugely popular quizzer left in tears in the opening episode of the show where she alluded to quitting.
Viewers watched on as the Yellow team made their way to the less luxurious Snake Rock while the Red team entered Croc Creek.
However, the changes prompted an emotional response from Anne.
After a long day, Anne became tearful and hinted at an early exit from the show.
Anne cried: “I’m really close to saying I can’t do this.”
However, it looks as though Anne will stay a while longer after help from her fellow campmates.
Emily explained: “Anne got a bit upset so we gave her a cuddle. It’s overwhelming.
“I think she was just expressing how we were all feeling, we just didn’t want to admit it!”
Fleur East added: “I feel like we all have to be there for her and the minute that we all rallied around her, she just felt so much better.”
Anne later said in the Bush Telegraph: “I like them. They’re my team!”
I’m A Celebrity 2018 continues tomorrow on ITV at 9pm.
