Parts of the event will be featured on the Grammy’s on Sunday evening.

A star filled line from Garth Brooks, Miley Cyrus, Pink and many more performed some of Dolly’s classic hits. Parton said she is honored that her peers would honor her in such a way.

“I truly am honored to be the MusiCares person of the year and the first country artist to be honored,” said Parton. “When I started it (Imagination LIbrary), I thought it was just going to be in our home county, maybe a couple of counties over. But it turned out that we took it all over Tennessee and it went on into Canada.”

MusiCares also uses the event as a fundraiser. They support artists with addictions other needs. A vacation to Pigeon Forge called “The Dolly Package” generated more than $180,000 during silent auction and a guitar signed by Dolly went for more than $30,000.

On the Red Carpet the stars were talking about Dolly’s work to always give back.

“It’s an honor, the first thing she did when she walked in was say thank you. All you do is say are you kidding me?” said Garth Brooks.

“We’re saying thank you, that’s why we’re hear tonight. To say thank you for the music, thank you for the inspiration,” said Trisha Yearwood.
