Tanglz Salon in Menasha will close April 30. The large salon is at 1440 S. Oneida St. in Menasha.

Owner Tom Brodhagen did not return a call asking for more information on the closure.

Customers who’ve been in the salon in the last few days allege Brodhagen instructed the staff to no longer accept gift certificates or give reimbursements.

Customers who want to file a complaint about gift certificates can contact the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection at datcp.wi.gov or 800-422-7128.

“It is difficult for us to speak in absolutes about what protections a consumer may or may not have in this situation,” said agency spokesman Jerad Albracht. ”DATCP would advise affected consumers to file a complaint with our agency so that we can attempt to mediate the situation and ensure that no state laws were violated.”

Note that a separate business, Wisconsin Laser Center, will accept unexpired Tanglz certificates towards the purchase of a package of its services.

Wisconsin Laser Center has been located inside the Tanglz Salon, but was sold April 2 to Stacie Miller and will move Monday to 1075 S. Lake St. in Neenah, behind Starbucks. Its phone remains 920-882-0115.

Miller said the laser center offers tattoo and hair removal, facial rejuvenation and body sculpting. Wisconsin Laser Center-issued gift certificates and packages will be honored as well.

Tanglz customers who wish to follow their hair stylists can now check with the salon or see its Facebook page for a list of where each stylist will go.
