Two new Thai cafes in the Fox Cities are in different states of completion.
Open
Thai Cuisine is now open in Greenville. The plain cafe is at N1788 Lily of the Valley Drive, in the same strip mall as Field & Fire and Corks and Caps.
Owner/cook Chue Yang is an aunt in the Mai’s Deli family, and she cooked at Mai’s for seven years.
She started this new venture, she said through her niece/interpreter Ying Chang, “to support her four children.”
Greenville residents will know Yang’s food from the local farm market where she operated previously as Thai Deli.
Thai Cuisine’s take-out or dine-in menu has egg rolls, crab rangoons, pad Thai, stuffed chicken wings, stir-fry noodles and pho. Most entrees are under $10. Open 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. More info: Thai Cuisine on Facebook or 920-364-0830
Coming
Thai Ginger Bistro is in its early construction phase at 1619 W. College Ave., a strip mall spot that had been Whimsical Charm before that retail store moved a block away.
Thai Ginger Bistro’s owner, Bounpheng Luangpraseuth, filed an alcohol license application. He also requested a special use permit that Appleton’s Common Council will review June 5.
