Joan Collins’ star turns double birthday – Express

Hollywood legend Sir Michael Caine, 86, attended with his wife Shakira. They first met at the venue in 1971. Also on hand to celebrate was Sir Rod Stewart, 74, and his wife Penny Lancaster, 48, former Rolling Stone BillWyman, 82, and wife Suzanne Accosta, 49. They were joined by music producer Mark Ronson, 43, Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, 56, billionaire businessman Simon Reuben, 77, and TV magician Dynamo, 36. Former Dynasty star Dame Joan arrived at the party on Thursday night, with fifth husband Percy Gibson, 54, on her arm.

After being presented with a sumptuous two-tier birthday cake adorned with gold sugar roses, ribbons and indoor sparklers, Dame Joan blew out the candles before brandishing a huge knife to cut slices for her celebrity pals.

Dame Joan has been a loyal regular at the club over the years and once held her wedding reception there, partying into the early hours with Peter Sellers, Liza Minnelli and Ringo Starr.

Her sister, the late novelist Jackie Collins, was also once married to one of the club’s founders, Oscar Lerman.

The big-name gathering was a fitting tribute to Tramp, which celebrated 50 years of playing host to some of the biggest names in film,TV and music.

Founded in 1969 on a quiet road off Piccadilly, the club quickly developed a reputation for being the most debauched nightspot in London, garnering the famous motto: “What happens in Tramp stays in Tramp.”

The club’s manager David Fleming said during its heyday, it was “just normal” to find the Beatles sitting next to the Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra.

Mr Fleming has also said that three James Bonds once dined together at the club.

Sir Roger Moore, Sir Sean Connery and George Lazenby were all said to have bumped into one another on the premises, before having dinner together in the club’s Zodiac restaurant.
