Two new businesses aim to boost the caffeine buzz in Kaukauna.

Wildfire Coffeehouse

Wildfire Coffeehouse plans to open by early August in Kaukauna. It took a spot at 340 E. Ann St., in a strip mall near Piggly Wiggly, and is under renovation now with a modern/rustic style decor.

Wildfire will have pour-over coffees to lattes using organic, ethically sourced beans.

Ashton’s Coffee

Ashton’s Coffee will open its doors in a “soft opening” phase June 24. Its grand opening is July 7.

The coffee shop is attached to Ashton’s Confections, a candy and chocolate shop that opened in December at 151 E. Third St., at the corner of State 55 in Kaukauna. In recent years, the space had been a wrestling training center and a Subway.

To reach the coffee shop, park in the attached parking lot and enter through the chocolate shop door.

Owner Mark Wickesberg felt Kaukauna could use another coffee shop.

“It’s not high-end coffee,” he said. “It’s a place for light sandwiches and gourmet coffee.”
