European gossip: Manchester United in shock £45m move, De Ligt to make decision – LancsLive

Manchester United have been linked with the same people over and over this summer – but no move for either Gareth Bale or Matthijs de Ligt has come about as yet.

So here’s a new name. Manchester United are keen on West Ham star Issa Diop, according to reports.

Elsewhere, De Ligt has narrowed his options down and predictably hasn’t chosen a club that won’t be playing Champions League football next year.

All the gossip from the continent is below – and has been rated.

Man Utd keen on £45m Diop deal

One from Sky Sports.

Issa Diop starred for West Ham last season.

Now, according to Sky Sports, he’s on Manchester United’s radar.

It’s claimed the Hammers can double their money on the Frenchman, with United reportedly ready to pay £45million for the ex-Toulouse defender.

Likelihood: They’ll likely be asking for more coin that that – but United need to reinforce across the pitch and moving for a central defender with Premier League experience is an oddly sensible move for them.

De Ligt ready to pick between two clubs

Matthijs de Ligt has a whole host of clubs lining up to sign him.

In fact, the Holland international has offers on the table from the likes of Juventus, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

But according to new reports from Holland, the 19-year-old has narrowed his decision down to just two clubs: Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Likelihood: He needs to choose Barcelona then, really, doesn’t he?

Milan ‘open talks’ with Torreira camp

According to the Gazzetta dello Spot, AC Milan have opened talks with Lucas Torreira’s representatives over a potential return.

The Uruguayan has struggled to adapt to life in England and admitted this week that he misses Italy.

Milan are keen to do a deal in the region of £35million.

Likelihood: Missing Italy and wanting to return to Italy are two very different things. But Arsenal could use that money to invest in the squad – their budget is somewhat limiting at the moment.
