The Premier League season is now just weeks away with clubs working hard to strengthen their squads.

We’ve already seen some major deals in the transfer window and more are expected.

Here are the latest rumours from around the Premier League – and we’ve rated it all as always.

Manchester United to announce Maguire

Harry Maguire is set to sign for Manchester United in a deal worth £80million.

The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League while he is first-choice for Gareth Southgate at national level.

United saw an offer worth £70m rejected for the former Sheffield United man but they have returned with an improved offer which has been accepted, according to the Sun.

Maguire is now expected to head to Manchester for a medical today before completing the world-record deal for a defender.

Arsenal to finally land Tierney

Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney after they submitted an improved bid.

BBC Sport report that the Gunners saw their initial offer of £15m for the left-back rejected last month.

A new offer closer to Celtic’s £25m asking price is now reportedly on the table.

The 22-year-old could now become the most expensive player in Scottish football history.

Napoli have also been linked with a move for the Scottish star. 

Likelihood: It fits their budget and they definitely need a left back.

 

Next move for Lemina

Manchester United are no longer interested in signing Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, leaving the way open for Arsenal.

The Saints man looks set to leave the club this summer after falling out of favour at St Mar’s

United had been suggested as one destination but ESPN reports that they have now moved onto other targets.

Arsenal have also been mentioned as a suitor for the 25-year-old and the could now make their move.

Likelihood: This one feels like more of a stretch.

Clubs battle for striker

Five Premier League sides are reportedly in the race to sign £20million Russian rising-star Fedor Chalov.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United have all been linked with the CSKA Moscow striker.

The Mirror reports that the 21-year-old has been impressing watching scouts with his 27 goals in 65 league games.

Jurgen Klopp is looking for an extra striker after the departure of Daniel Sturridge but it looks there will be competition for his signature.
