Changing hands

In Greenville, Jaripeo Mexican Grill is in the process of becoming Fiesta Rodeo Mexican Cuisine. It’s the restaurant inside the Bulk-Priced Food Shoppe building at W6482 Greenville Drive.

The new owner is listed in Greenville records as Serron Enterprises. Previously, Oscar and Sherri Serron operated The Greek Kafe for four years on Ballard Road in Appleton.

Fiesta Rodeo pays homage to the outgoing Jaripeo restaurant, as jaripeo means rodeo in Spanish.

Jaripeo Mexican Grill on Evergreen Drive on Appleton’s north side and El Jaripeo restaurants in Little Chute are separately owned and not affected by the Greenville changeover.

Expanded

Amaze & Grace added a do-it-yourself space in its new location at 4805 W. Michaels Drive in Grand Chute, inside the Home Interiors building. The business is a booth-based vintage/craft/handmade home decor market that was previously next to David’s Bridal. Its DIY area, called the “maker space” gives customers materials and directions to make their own projects at a cost of $5 to $30. See details under the events tab on Amaze & Grace’s Facebook page.

Little Chute construction

Reader question: Do you know what is going on next to Dollar Tree in Little Chute? Some say a brewpub, others say retail.

Answer: That building at 133 W. Main St., across from the windmill, doesn’t have a signed tenant just yet.

“No tenant has been established,” said Jim Moes, director of community development for the village. “They’re remodeling the front in preparation for making the space available.”

Moes said the village requires buildings to have Old World-style storefronts.

“It fits in with the theme of what we’ve done with the village hall and the windmill,” he said.

The site previously housed a Save-A-Lot store.

The property is owned by Mike Van Asten.

“It all used to be Gordy’s Food Fair back in the day,” said Moes.

“Gordy was Mike’s father. Mike sold the Dollar Tree portion to the developer who leases it to Dollar Tree. He (Mike) retained the part to the west of the dollar store.”
