The ‘Gossip Girl’ TV series, based on novel of the same title, took the world by storm in the late 2000’s. The teen drama lasted for 6 episodes and featured NYC-dwelling private school students whose lives were toyed around with by rumors spread by the anonymous “gossip girl.” Everyone wanted to live in the Upper East Side and sit on the steps of the MET with Serena and Blair. Fans were devastated when the show ended in 2012. However, it has confirmed that there will be a 10-episode reboot of ‘Gossip Girl.’ Fans everywhere are celebrating.

‘Gossip Girl’ creators plan on going in a different direction with the reboot. The show will feature an entirely different set of characters which means Serena, Blair, Dan, and many other characters will no longer have a leading part in the world. Does this mean the show no longer has a need for previous cast members Blake Lively, Leighton Meister and the other originals? The producers have said that these actors are welcome to make a guest appearance on the show but will no longer play main characters.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot also plans to utilize the way that technology has evolved as a part of the storyline. Opposed to when the show first aired and blogging was the thing to do, the show will explore modern social media. Many feared that this would eliminate the need for the omni-present voice of “Gossip Girl.” However, it is confirmed that Kristen Bell will return as the voice of “Gossip Girl” to narrate the story and dish on the characters. Show producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran, and creator Josh Schwartz, reassured fans this week stating, “Kristen Bell has always been and will always be the voice of Gossip Girl.” @liquidblonde1 agreed tweeting, “#GossipGirl wouldn’t be the same without you @KristenBell.”
Kristen Bell has had a successful career since her debut on the original ‘Gossip Girl.’ She has played iconic roles starring as Anna in ‘Frozen,’ Eleanor Shellstrop in ‘The Good Place’ and reprised her lead role in the reboot of ‘Veronica Mars.’ She also started her family having Lincoln who is now 6 and Delta who is 4.
