Kate Garraway shed two stone ahead of I’m a Celebrity with simple change to her diet – Irish Mirror
Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway is gearing up to appear on this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
And the 52-year-old will be well aware of those famed bikini-clad showers as well as the very basic rice and beans diet she will have, so it seems she is already preparing herself.
The presenter reportedly made one simple change to her diet, which saw her shed two stone and get into what she calls the best shape of her life.
Kate’s early morning shift times with a 3am wake up call meant she was often reaching for sugary snacks to give her energy, but she revealed her body has transformed since she cut out sugar completely.
The mum of two told Fit & Well : “I tried different popular diets and realised, because of the crazy shifts I do, I regulated my energy with sugar bursts.
“I didn’t think I ate a lot of sugar but by 8am I’ve always had loads of chocolate.”
“Now I eat avocados obsessively because I found one of the diets was high in good fat, medium protein and zero sugar – which is a bit extreme for me.
“But eating avocados and low-sugar foods help keep my energy levels up.”
Kate said she has also cut out caffeine, but has insisted she does not restrict her diet too much.
The TV star works out regularly and walks to places when possible.
“I feel so much better if I do a lot of exercise but I find it really hard to do,” she explained.
“So I make sure I walk everywhere really fast, so I’m sweaty and feel out of breath.
“I run to school four or five days a week to collect the kids.”
In a recent Instagram post, Kate shared a video from one of her long country walks in the Lake District, writing alongside it: “#backtowork tomorrow but #backtonature today. Love getting into our woods & countryside.”
Kate will be appearing on our screens from next Sunday in the celebrity jungle in Australia.
She will join Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright, Andrew Maxwell, Jacqueline Jossa, James Haskell and Myles Stephenson in the camp.
She was spotted arriving at Brisbane Airport surrounded by security, wearing a beautiful tiger-print dress as she wheeled her luggage through the arrivals lounge.
Arriving full of smiles, Kate told the Mirror: “I’m terrified if I’m honest, I think I’ll be rubbish. I thought it would be good to tackle those fears and face them head-on. I’m afraid of all of it.”
