James Haskell’s wife defends I’m A Celebrity star’s temper and blames ‘orchestrated show’ – Express
James Haskell, 34, seemed to lose his temper on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night, as the former Rugby player ranted about his campmates for “dawdling” over decisions in the jungle. The sportsman described the camp as a “circus of stupidity” and struggled to hide his frustrations when they debated who should take on the latest Bushtucker Trial.
However, James’ wife Chloe Madeley, 32, has stepped in to defend her other half and told fans not to read too much into his outbursts.
In view of her 205,000 Instagram followers, the fitness enthusiast wrote: “The poor guy is in a right old grump.
“His BMR (basic metabolic rate) is around 2500 cals his TDEE (Total daily energy expenditure) is around 4000 cals so to go down to 800 maybe 1200 with stars, is clearly taking its toll on him.”
After pointing blame at James’ drastically transformed diet in the camp, she then claimed I’m A Celebrity is “orchestrated to get big reactions” and certain moments shouldn’t be taken so seriously.

James disagreed, as he replied: “Kate, there’s nothing to think about.
“I don’t understand what the stress is, it’s simple A, stick your hand up in the air or B stick your hand up in the air, majority wins, I don’t get it.”
James also weighed in on deciding who took part in that day’s Bushtucker Trial and said the contestants needed to share the airtime in “showcasing themselves”.
Chloe’s comments about James come after she admitted her concerns for the I’m A Celebrity star’s health as he competes in the ITV reality show.
Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan’s daughter spoke about his lack of food in the jungle with the Mirror.
She explained: “He’s being very selfless and letting other people have seconds before him, but I am watching him going, ‘Come on, get in there, get some food in you’ I’m a bit worried.
“He has lost more weight than the others but he had a lot to lose, there are reasons why this would be the case.”
