A locally-produced film made its way into the top 10 “B-movies” of the decade.

“Butcher the Bakers” was the third film created by Ottawa resident Tyler Amm and his production company Hometown Heroes and was placed at No. 7 in Screen Rant’s “10 Best B-Movies Made In The Past Decade,” which they ranked based on user-submitted scores on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) website.

The website describes the film as a “classic slapstick B-horror comedy” and complimented the performances of Ryan Ziegler and Sean Walsh.

“Comedic and entertaining, ‘Butcher the Bakers’ convoluted premise is saved by performances from the two actors who play Sam (played by Walsh) and Martin (played by Ziegler),” said Screen Rant Writer Megan Summers.

Amm directed the film after two earlier productions “Grace’s Room” and “River City Panic.”

“Butcher the Bakers” follows two bakers as they attempt to stop a grim reaper from collecting souls in a small community.

The movie is available on Amazon and free for Amazon Prime subscribers.
