Captivating the tech and entertainment world with the birth of their child, Grimes and Elon Musk have now updated the name of the baby. Interacting with fans on her recent Instagram post, the Miss Anthropocene artist revealed X Æ A-12 has now been changed to X Æ A-Xii. Adding “Roman numerals” and “looks better tbh” in a slight update on the same post.
Grimes revealed the updated name after fans asked if California law might affect the officiality of their child’s name. Although it has not been confirmed exactly why they updated, but California’s birth registration handbook states that baby names can only include the 26 alphabetical characters of the English language, with the exception of hyphens or apostrophes.
Speaking with Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience, Elon Musk revealed that Grimes “actually mostly came up with” it and showed how to pronounce the name. “It’s just X, the letter X, and then the Æ is pronounced ‘Ash’ and then A-12 is my contribution.” Grimes then took to Twitter to offer a detailed breakdown of the name’s meaning to her and Elon.
