Reader question: I would like to know which restaurants and bars that serve food are having their workers wear masks. It would influence me as to whether I would frequent the place. Any chance you could do a survey on the restaurants and let us know? My daughter, an RN, reads a weekly blog from a doctor she respects, and he says to not eat at restaurants where the workers are not wearing masks.

Answer: I’ll need reader input to make the list.

Because there are no state laws that require that employee wear masks, finding a place that is consistent can be hit or miss.

They might ask employees to wear them, but do they enforce it?

Some non-restaurant businesses are very strict, like Menards and Costco. Both say employees and customers have to wear masks.

Going inside a food or beverage establishment means customers are not wearing masks, of course, because they’re eating and drinking.

Question for readers: Have you been to a bar or restaurant that posts a sign saying all employees are required to wear masks?

Secondly, have you observed that all employees are upholding this standard?

Shoot me an email by the end of the week. I’ll compile a list to run early next week.

Note: I’ll be quoting people by name, so let me know if you’re speaking as a customer, an employee or the owner of the restaurant or bar.
