Albert Finney dies

Oscar-nominated British actor Albert Finney is dead at age 82, his family announced Friday. NBC reports the actor “passed away peacefully after a short illness with those closest to him by his side.” Finney was nominated for Academy Awards in his career, including roles in “Erin Brockovich,” “Tom Jones,” “Murder on the Orient Express,” “The Dresser,” and “Under the Volcano.” He also memorably played Dr. Albert Hirsch in two “Bourne” films, Daddy Warbucks in 1982’s “Annie,” and the older Ed Bloom in 2003’s “Big Fish.” His last role was as Kincade, a gamekeeper at the James Bond family estate in the 2012 movie “Skyfall.”

Ariana Grande slams Grammys

Ariana Grande is slamming the Grammys after producer Ken Ehrlich said she won’t be performing this year because “was too late for her to pull something together.” ET reports Grande accused Ehrlich of “lying,” saying that she offered three different songs during their month-long discussion, but didn’t feel “supported. It’s about art and honesty. Not politics. Not doing favors or playing games. It’s just a game y’all.. and I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.” The 25-year-old singer is up for two Grammy Awards this year, including Best Pop Solo Performance for “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Sweetener.”

“Hope that helps everyone understand my decision. I am still grateful for the acknowledgement this year,” Grande tweeted.

i’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me. i can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. it was when my creativity & self expression was stifled by you, that i decided not to attend. i hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more. 🖤
