The Chase: ‘Leave it out’ Bradley Walsh HITS BACK at contestant after unusual question – Express

Bradley Walsh, 58, was on hand to host the last celebrity special of the week for The Chase, welcoming four famous faces from the world of entertainment and sport to the show.

Appearing on the ITV quiz show this afternoon were Olympic hockey player Sam Quek, 30, comic puppet Basil Brush, presenter Andi Peters, 48, and entertainer Charlie Higson, 60.

Hoping to get their hands on some one for charity, each celerity had to face chaser and The Vixen star Jenny Ryan, 37.

However, after Andi was asked an unusual question, Bradley was more confused than ever, but Charlie knew what the question was about leading to a light-hearted clash between the pair.

Andi was the only celebrity to take the chaser higher offer this afternoon, after accumulating £7,000 during his cash builder round.

Instead of his original sum, Andi decided to play for £70,000 which meant he was one step closer to the chaser on the board, as well as being asked more difficult questions.

The presenter and the chaser were asked: “What word is used to describe the tactile sensation experienced whilst eating?”

Answers the pair had to choose were; A. Lip grip, B. Mouthfeel, or C. Tonguetouch, but after sating the choices, Bradley could’t get his head round the question.

Trying to get his head round it, Bradley exclaimed: “What is that?” before turning to the other celebrities, asking: “Have you heard of that?”

Charlie replied: “It’s what it feels like in your mouth,” to which Bradley remarked: “Really?” before adding: “Leave it out,” as the studio erupted into laughter.

Unfortunately, Andi’s hopes of securing a higher amount for the team were in vein as he was out run by the chaser, though Jenny commended the presenter for taking the risk.

Before Andi faced the chaser, hockey player Sam was the first celebrity to enter the game managing to add a total of £8,000 to the jackpot prize.

Sam’s efforts were matched with those of Basil who also managed to make it back to for the final chase with £8,000 to add to the cash total.

Viewer at home were shocked but pleased to see the fox puppet on the ITV quiz show and took to Twitter to comment on his appearance.

One viewer posted: “Enjoying basil brush on the chase, they should do the chase all the time with puppets #basilbrush #thechase.”

Another added: “Personally I think Basil Brush being on #thechase is a stroke of genius,” whilst a third commented: “Is it wrong… #thechase loving #basilbrush … brillliant #boomboom.”

A fourth remarked: “Watching Basil Brush in The Chase makes my heart a bit warm. #thechase #basilbrush @BradleyWalsh.”

Back to the game and after his earlier comical interaction with Bradley, it was Charlie’s turn to face the chaser but he also managed to outrun Jenny, leading him to add £7,000 to the cash prize, brining the total jackpot to £23,000.

In the final chase, the celebrities showed they were a force to be reckoned with as they outran the chaser once again, walking away with over £7,000 each to donate to their chosen charity.

On Friday’s celebrity edition of the show, Bradley had to silence one of the famous faces as they tried to reveal the answer to a question to the all star facing the chaser.
