Paper shredding and/or electronics recycling events typically pop up at this time every year.

Here are five coming up in the Fox Cities, but there could be more.

Check with your bank for credit union to see if it is doing an in-house or private shredding service for its customers or members.

Watch for more recycling events put on by municipalities.

Paper Shredding only

•North Shore Bank hosts its annual free community shredding day May 4. The public can bring up to two bags or boxes of documents for shredding from 9-11 a.m. that Saturday to any North Shore Bank branch. The Appleton location at 1100 W. Northland Ave. will have a shredding truck onsite. More information: shredit.northshorebank.com.

Both paper and electronics

•Fox Communities Credit Union will hold its annual paper shredding/electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon, June 15, in the Timber Rattlers stadium parking lot, 2400 N. Casaloma Drive in Grand Chute. According to its website, foxcu.org/event/appleton-secure-shred-recycle-event-summer-2019, the event is open to the community and accepts 10 bags of paper per vehicle for free on-site shredding. Small electronics can be recycled for free. See the website for fees charged to recycle larger items or call 920-955-3760. It does not accept large refrigerators or freezers.

Electronics recycling only

•Fox Crossing will collect electronics and plastic bags at its recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday at the Fox Crossing Village Hall, 2000 Municipal Drive. Small electronics are recycled for free. Larger electronics, like computer monitors, TVs, printers, microwaves, mini refrigerators, washers and dryers will be accepted with fees from $15 to $60. No large refrigerators or freezers are accepted. More info: call 920-955-3760 or see www.foxcrossingwi.gov/electronics-recycling-event.

•The city of Menasha holds an electronics recycling event, open to everyone, from 8 a.m. to noon on May 11 at Menasha Utilities, 321 Milwaukee St. in Menasha. Small electronics will be recycled for free. As with Fox Crossing above, larger electronics will be recycled for a fee. More info: 920-955-3760. This event does not accept plastic bags or large refrigerators and freezers for recycling.

•Grand Chute holds an electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on May 11 at its town hall, 1900 W. Grand Chute Blvd. “We accept everything with a cord, battery or engine,” its flyer reads. The extensive list includes auto batteries, cars, cell phones, machinery, motorcycles, musical instruments, scrap metal, snow blowers and washers. It charges fees from $2 to $50 for TVs, monitors, fluorescent light bulbs and refrigerators/freezers. More info: see e-cycling/residential tab on k9techservices.com or 920-246-5785.
