At Home will make Grand Chute its new home next week.

The large, 88,000-square-foot home decor store is expected to have its “soft opening,” or first day of business, on Wednesday, Aug. 28 or shortly thereafter. It will have a grand opening Sept. 14.

At Home is at 3820 W. Wisconsin Ave., next to WG&R Furniture. Both stores face Interstate 41.

The Plano, Texas-based chain has 205 no-frills, warehouse-style stores. They have aisles of pillows, rugs, mirrors, furniture, art, storage and seasonal items. Each one stocks more than 50,000 decor items.

“We welcome everyone to come in, explore our newest store and find endless decorating possibilities for every room in your home for your budget,” said store director Sherry Sturgis.

This is At Home’s first store in the Fox Valley. Southern Wisconsin locations are in Wauwatosa, Greenfield and Madison.

The Grand Chute store’s grand opening/open house starts at 9 a.m. Sept. 14, and its staff will give gift cards to the first 50 people.

WG&R’s owner and site developer Jim Greene sees At Home as a compatible business with his next-door WG&R store, saying they serve the same customer and have minimal product overlap.
