“When Stacey Bendet calls you, you pick up the phone,” said Robertson. “Stacey has very kindly turned my art manual, ‘Donald’ the book, into a fashion collection.”

“The first collaboration I ever did with Donald was one of my favorites ever because we both built off of each other’s creativity and had so much fun working together,” added Bendet. “When I was working on my new summer collection I kept saying, ‘These colors are so Donald,’ so I asked him to create a Stace print that could go back to the colors of my summer collection. He reminded of one that he had already created, and we turned it into a blouse. I was working in between summer and pre- fall on animal prints, so he developed these leopard lips that I decided to pair back to all these crazy fun colors. What was supposed to be one button down shirt turned into a whole capsule collection.”

The second Donald Robertson and alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet collection features various t-shirts, scarves, skirts, sneakers and jackets covered in Robertson’s playful lip prints — one is a leopard-print silhouette of a mouth and the other shows a red-lipped pout with a tongue sticking. The new Stace print shows a sassy Bendet in a bikini top and print trousers, perfectly embodying the alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet spirit. With collaboration number two under the wraps, who knows — could there be a third Donald Robertson and  alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet in the works?
