8 Genuinely Wild Kardashian Conspiracy Theories

1.

Kris Jenner orchestrated the leak of Kim’s sex tape

The notion that Kris Jenner deliberately leaked Kim’s sex tape in a bid to secure fame and a TV show, is a theory that has been brought up countless times over the Kardashians’ decade in the public eye.

However, the reports that Kris Jenner was behind the leak have been vehemently denied by Steven Hirsch, founder and co-CEO of the adult entertainment company that distributed the tape.

Speaking in 2012, Hirsch said: “Let me be perfectly clear, Kris Jenner had absolutely nothing to do with the deal and ultimate distribution of Kim Kardashian, Superstar. To suggest anything different is both ridiculous and irresponsible, period.”

And, in an interview in 2017 Kris called the claims “nonsense.”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said: “Of course it’s nonsense. You know, haters are gonna hate. People are gonna come up with the most ridiculous things.”

2.

Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries was faked for ratings and money

E!

Cast your mind back to 2011, and you probably remember that Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries in a wildly decadent ceremony filmed exclusively for E! Then, a mere 72 days later, Kim announced that she was divorcing Kris. The fact that the marriage ended so quickly led people to suggest that the entire thing was a sham, orchestrated to secure the Kardashians millions of dollars and record ratings for E!

However, speaking a year after her divorce, Kim denied that the relationship and wedding were faked and said that the decision to end the marriage and face a backlash was a risky business decision.

Speaking to Oprah, Kim said: “We have an amazing fan base. We don’t do anything for ratings. My decision to end my marriage was such a risk to lose ratings and lose my fan base. But I had to take that risk for my inner peace and to be happy with myself.”

She also later revealed that the public response to the split was so negative that she genuinely believed her career was over. Kim said: “I did say to everyone, ‘You guys, I think our careers are over. I hope you’ve saved your money. I totally thought it was over.”

And Kris Jenner commented on the claim that the wedding was a money-spinning exercise, revealing that Kim didn’t make a profit on the nuptials since anything she did earn was ploughed back into the big day.

And, a few months later, legal documents from the divorce revealed the exact amounts Kim had earned from the wedding. She received $175,000 from People magazine for the exclusive engagement announcement and $1.1 million for the wedding photos. She earned $90,000 from having her bachelorette party at Las Vegas venue Tao, and $1 million for airing the wedding on E! This takes the total to $2.3 million — a fraction of the total $10 million cost of the wedding.

3.

Kim Kardashian faked the Paris robbery

In October 2016, Kim Kardashian was held up at gunpoint and robbed in her Paris apartment. Despite fearing that she would be raped and murdered, Kim managed to escape physically unharmed although she still experiences psychological trauma from the incident.

Within hours of the news breaking, some people claimed that since the robbery appeared “too good to be true,” Kim had orchestrated the whole incident for publicity and ratings.

However, Kim addressed the claims during a scene in KUWTK shot shortly after the incident.

After seeing the fakery claims online, Kim said: “Why would anyone make this up? Why would I say my ring got stolen and then never be able to wear my ring? Why would I want to look unsafe for more people to target me? It really is hard when people sometimes don’t treat you like you’re human and you’re going through such a real, raw experience. It’s really traumatising.”

And, as if we needed any more proof that the theory was completely baseless, the robbers were eventually tracked down, arrested and charged with the crime, and the ringleader even wrote a letter of apology to Kim.

Kim faked her second pregnancy

Star / InTouch

It’s fair to say that Kim Kardashian was hounded by the media during her first pregnancy, with paparazzi trailing her everywhere and magazines emblazoning her image across front covers, regaling over her weight gain. What nobody knew at the time was that the swelling was due to preeclampsia — a potentially life-threatening disease which led to her delivering North West five weeks early.

However, when it came to her second pregnancy, Kim didn’t have preeclampsia and so experienced much less swelling.

And, because she looked so different, a theory emerged positing that Kim was “faking” her pregnancy by wearing a prosthetic bump and actually using a surrogate to carry the baby.

But Kim shut the theory down by exposing her growing bump in a nude photo posted to Instagram.

In the caption, she addressed the fakery claims directly by saying: “First they said I’m too skinny so I have to be faking it…Now they say I’m too big so I have to be faking it…SMH! Some days I’m photographed before I eat & look smaller, some days I’ve just eaten & I look bigger. It’s all a part of the process.”

And she concluded her statement by saying: “I think you all know me well enough to know I would document the process if I got a surrogate.” Of course, two years later she did just that.

5.

Kylie Jenner was Kim’s surrogate

You probably remember how the Kardashians shocked us all last year by revealing that Kim, Khloé and Kylie were all expecting babies within months of each other. Khloé and Kylie were both pregnant with their first babies, while Kim was expecting her third via a surrogate.

However, because Kylie disappeared from the public eye for seven months and refused to confirm or deny her pregnancy, sleuths came up with a theory: That Kylie was Kim’s gestational carrier.

Despite the fact that Kim and Kylie had different due dates, the news that they were “both” expecting girls led to further speculation that Kylie was lying low while she carried Kim’s baby.

However, this theory was put to bed when Kim’s surrogate made two appearances on KUWTK — the first to meet the rest of the Kardashians, and the second during a doctor’s appointment towards the end of her pregnancy.

And, of course, two individual babies then arrived at the start of the year — Kim’s daughter Chicago arrived in late January and Kylie’s baby Stormi was welcomed in early February.

Stormi’s biological father is Kylie Jenner’s bodyguard

Despite Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott having been in a committed relationship since May 2017, a wild conspiracy theory emerged three months after the arrival of their daughter Stormi — that Kylie’s bodyguard was the biological father, not Travis.

The theory stemmed purely from people noticing a likeness between Stormi and Tim Jung, the bodyguard.

Of course Twitter erupted, with people sharing side-by-side photos of Stormi, Travis and Tim, and concluding that the baby resembled the bodyguard more than Travis.

While Kylie didn’t comment on the theory, Tim eventually took to Instagram and emphatically denied being Stormi’s father, stating that his dealings with Kylie had been purely “professional.”

7.

OJ Simpson is Khloe Kardashian’s real dad

Kris Jenner

This theory emerged after Kris Jenner revealed in her 2011 autobiography that she’d had an affair during her marriage to Robert Kardashian. Because Khloé doesn’t resemble her siblings as much as they do each other, people began expressing doubt that Robert Kardashian was really Khloé’s biological father. It was then suggested that OJ Simpson, who was close friends with Kris and Robert for many years, was her real dad.

Theorists bolstered their claims by comparing Khloe’s facial features with those of OJ’s and his actual biological daughter, Sydney, and drew the conclusion that she resembled them more than her Kardashian relatives.

National Enquirer

The theory became so enduring that it was addressed in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in which Kris begged Khloe to undergo a DNA test to prove her paternity.

And, although Khloe refused the test, she and her siblings have made numerous jokes about the OJ theory.

E!

In one scene, Kourtney found an old photo of Robert Kardashian with OJ Simpson. She held it up and told Khloe: “Look, there’s your dad.” Another time, Khloe responded to an Instagram commenter who said she “looked white in this picture,” with: “I don’t know… Some days I’m OJs daughter. Others I’m Robert’s daughter.”

But OJ denied the theory himself in January this year.

When asked whether he had a comment on Khloe’s pregnancy, OJ said: “Well, for Bob [Kardashian], God bless his soul, yeah. I don’t know for me. I don’t think for me I have nothing to do with it. ‘I would be proud … but trust me, I had nothing to do with it.”

8.

And, finally, the Kardashian men are cursed

Getty Images

This theory posits that any man who comes into the Kardashian orbit will end up destroyed. People have decided that the “curse” is to blame for any and all of the Kardashian mens’ problems — from Rob’s mental health issues and weight gain, to Scott Disick and Lamar Odom’s alcohol and drug abuse, Kanye West’s breakdown in 2016 and most offensively of all, Caitlyn Jenner’s transition.

The theory was given some airtime in season 12 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, during an episode in which Scott Disick visited a spiritual medium in a bid to rid himself of the curse.

Kylie Jenner went on to address the theory earlier this year.

When an interviewer suggested to her that the Kardashians are “built for a certain level of fame,” whereas the men around them simply weren’t, Kylie agreed. She said: “That’s exactly what it is. They come and they can’t handle it.” However, she went on to clarify that it wasn’t just boyfriends and husbands affected by their lifestyles, but friends and acquaintances too.

However, Kim Kardashian has shut the theory down entirely. Speaking during one episode of KUWTK she said the whole thing was both “ridiculous” and “offensive.”
