Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 34, married in May this year.
The bride’s father was not able to attend the wedding or walk her down the aisle, leaving the former-Suits actress without an escort to the alter.
However, Prince Charles stood in for Thomas Markle, a touching moment.
The Prince of Wales wore a dapper grey morning suit with lilac tie to accompany Meghan down the aisle of St George’s Chapel.
For sometime it was thought Meghan’s mother might walk her down the aisle, or that Meghan could do it alone.
However, it was a show of solidarity among the Royal Family that Charles stepped in.
In last night’s documentary Prince Harry opened up about the moment he asked his father to walk Meghan down the aisle.
The Duke of Sussex said: “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you.’”
“For him that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us.”
While Meghan’s father could not attend the ceremony, her mother Doria Ragland did.
The American woman might have felt out of place among the highest ranks of British society, but the Prince of Wales did all her could to make her feel comfortable.
Charles’ wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, opened up on the moment her husband held Doria’s hand.
She said: “A lot of people, seeing my husband actually take the bride’s mother by the hand to sign the registry, it’s something that moved everybody.
“It’s the things he does behind the scenes that people don’t know about. I don’t think people realise quite how kind he is.”
It has been reported that Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William might split their “court”.
It comes after The Sunday Times claimed Harry and William may break up their joint offices.
This would see the two brothers work more separately in future.
Pregnant Meghan and Harry have recently toured Australia, Tonga and Fiji together.
This could be the beginning of many more solo trips for the married pair.

She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself.
Charity and humanitarian work
Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.
She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.
And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.
Relationships
In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.
But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.
She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.
And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.
Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.
They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Meghan’s heritage
Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.
Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.
But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.
She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
