Ranch Hand Breakfast demonstrates cowboy lifestyle

It was another successful year at the annual King Ranch “Ranch Hand Breakfast.”

Everyone was invited to King Ranch for an authentic cowboy breakfast Saturday. Volunteers showed attendees how real cowboys cooked up their meals, serving eggs, refried beans and of course, biscuits and gravy.

“We just come and demonstrate, showing folks who have never been around this kind of lifestyle how cowboys really work and how the cooks work to keep them fed. And if you don’t have happy cowboys you don’t have good cowboys,” one cowboy said.

The fun didn’t stop at the breakfast. A concert was held at the JK Northway Exposition Center to benefit Brush Country CASA, an organization that helps abused and neglected children get through the court system.
