Why is Meghan Markle being nicknamed “Duchess Difficult”?
British newspapers claim royal staff members have given her the unflattering moniker because of how demanding she is.
The reports come as a second member of Meghan’s staff is quitting. Samantha Cohen, who has acted as a trusted aide and private secretary to Meghan and her beau Prince Harry, will leave her post in the spring after Meghan has her baby.
Her resignation comes after another one of Meghan’s assistants, Melissa Touabti, left in the fall following just six months on the job.
Royals expert Victoria Arbiter told Inside Edition that she disagreed with Cohen’s leaving has anything to do with a clash in their personalities.

“It seems like suddenly in the last few weeks, this reputation is building of Meghan being difficult,” Arbiter said. “It’s founded from absolutely nothing. It was said from day one that Samantha Cohen was only going to serve as the interim assistant to Harry and Meghan. She was never meant to stay any longer.”
Cohen, who is nicknamed “Samantha the Panther” for her take-no-prisoners manner, is a mom of three herself and was once Queen Elizabeth’s assistant private secretary and press spokesperson.Cohen began serving Markle before the wedding, helping her transition flawlessly into the royal family. She will also reportedly be part of the process of helping hire her replacement.
Prince William is also rumored to be a critic of his brother’s bride. He reportedly suggested early on in their romance that she might not be a suitable match for Prince Harry.
“Harry went mental. The brothers’ relationship has not really recovered,” a source reportedly said.
