Nate Archibald, aka actor Chace Crawford, heard the Gossip Girl gods that be were talking about rebooting the series (or at least CW President Mark Pedowitz said they were). Crawford had quite a bit to say about the idea when Entertainment Tonight asked him about it. He’s up for it if the setup is right, but at the same time, he’s not convinced that it will really happen.

“I guess I did hear about it,” Crawford told Entertainment Tonight of the reboot rumors. “I don’t think anyone’s been seriously talking about that. I think they’d have to come up with a real plan, and I know [executive producers] Josh[Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] would have to be a part of it.”

Crawford doesn’t see how they’d bring the original cast back; he joked they’d recast with younger actors. And part of him thinks that they shouldn’t revive or redo Gossip Girl because it’s complete as it was. “It is funny to me, it’s almost become a classic now,” he said. “It probably goes to show you that we shouldn’t be redoing it.”

Also, he’s 33 now, not 23. “I can’t be in high school anymore,” he said. “That’s the thing. I don’t even know what they would do. For me personally, I would love to see everybody again and I loved everybody and I would love to work with everybody, but I don’t know if it’s necessarily a reality.”

“I don’t know what the way in would be to the story, to get everyone back together,” he continued. But if a way is found, Nate Archibald will be part of it. “I’m always up for anything,” Crawford said. “That was such a good part of my life and experience, and hell, if they throw in shooting in New York City again, I’m there.”
