Burberry Joins Gucci Drama After Showing Off Noose Hoodie At Fashion Event – SOHH

Fashion powerhouse Burberry is in some serious hot water. The company has issued a public apology following backlash its received for sending a noose hoodie down a fashion week runway.

On Tuesday, Burberry issued an apology for showing off its controversial and racist apparel during its London Fashion Week showcase.

“We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our A/W 2019 runway collection,” Marco Gobbetti, Burberry chief executive officer, said in a statement provided to CNN. “Though the design was inspired by the marine theme that ran throughout the collection, it was insensitive and we made a mistake,” he added. Model Liz Kennedy – who modeled in the show – issued a full statement on the situation.

The drama has sparked a flurry of social media reactions and outbursts.
