Captain Marvel first reactions are in, and it's another big hit for the MCU – DigitalSpy.com

Captain Marvel is only a fortnight away and the first reactions have arrived from critics in the US who got to watch the film early.

Unsurprisingly, it’s another hit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with those who have seen the movie calling it a lot of fun and praising the 1990s aesthetic.

Brie Larson has received plaudits for her leading role, while Ben Mendelsohn’s performance as Talos also seems to be one worth looking out for.

Let’s have a look what people have been saying:

Disney has been hyping up the release for Captain Marvel with a steady stream of new clips, including a train battle with a Skrull and the Infinity War pager in action.

Talking of that crucial pager, Samuel L Jackson has teased how Larson’s superhero ends up in Avengers: Endgame.

“She can time travel so maybe she can get ahead or behind or whatever, and figure out what all that is. The fact I have the pager 20 years later – it gets addressed in an interesting sort of way,” he explained.

We’ve also potentially had confirmation of who Jude Law is playing in the movie and it isn’t who we expected.

The solo movie will likely show off the full array of Captain Marvel’s powers, but the Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo has spoken about the “concern” when it comes to “overpowering characters”.

Captain Marvel is released in cinemas on March 8, followed by Avengers: Endgame in UK cinemas on April 25 and US cinemas on April 26.
