While Captain Marvel is performing strongly, Black Panther, Marvel’s The Avengers, and Avengers: Infinity War all hold the title of fastest MCU films to reach $200 million, with Black Panther holding the record for most earned at the US domestic box office during its theatrical run.

Meanwhile, four films – Thor, Ant-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger – never reached that $200 million mark. However, all of those film’s sequels (well, those that got sequels — RIP, Incredible Hulk) did reach that milestone, with Captain America’s two follow-up films reaching #14 and #5 above, respectively.

Thor: The Dark World, which took 44 days to reach $200 million, earned it with 27 days left to spare as its last recorded box office date was January 16, 2014.

The next big question will be where Avengers: Endgame will fit in to the above list when it releases in theaters on April 26, 2019.

Captain Marvel, interestingly enough, also holds the title of 7th lowest second weekend drop in the domestic box office. Since its debut last weekend, Carol Danvers’ origin film saw an estimated 54.8% drop, which puts it just above Guardians of the Galaxy and just below Thor: Ragnarok. It’s worth noting that a percentage drop between the first and second box office weekends isn’t necessarily a sign of a movie’s success or failure. According to Box Office Mojo, the average second weekend drop for an MCU movie is 56%.
