Leland Chapman, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s son, injured, hospitalized in Alabama – AL.com

Leland Chapman, the son of reality show star Dog the Bounty Hunter, is recovering at an Alabama hospital after being injured during a manhunt.

A spokesperson for Chapman confirmed to AL.com that Chapman, 42, will be out of action for six weeks due to an injury sustained while chasing fugitive Edward Morales. According to his spokesperson, Chapman, who lives in Athens, Alabama, tore his ACL and will require surgery.

Chapman and his father were chasing Morales in Adams County, Colorado when the incident occurred. Morales pleaded guilty to harassment in June and a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear at a hearing. According to reports, Leland Chapman was injured during the struggle to subdue Morales, who was eventually taken into custody.

The manhunt marked Dog Chapman’s first since his wife and Leland’s stepmother, Beth Chapman, passed away from cancer at the age of 51 on June 26. A memorial service for Beth Chapman is planned for July 13 in Colorado.

The fugitive’s capture was caught on tape for the family’s new show, “Dog’s Most Wanted,” coming soon to WGN.
