Ant McPartlin spotting driving again after cutting short his drink-drive ban – Irish Mirror

Ant McPartlin has been spotted back behind the wheel of a car 15 months after his drink-drive smash.

The presenter had been banned from the road for 20 months in April last year but has had five months cut off his sentence after completing a rehabilitation course, according to reports.

43-year-old Ant was spotted taking girlfriend Ann-Marie Corbett for a spin in a silver Range Rover in West London this week.

Friends close to the Britain’s Got Talent presenter say he’s ‘delighted’ to be back on the road.

Ant was banned from driving for 20 months after his mini collided with another vehicle

A source told The Sun: “It hasn’t diminished the impact of everything which has happened, and remains fresh in his mind.

“It’s been a dreadful time and he has many regrets, but he’s very pleased to be getting back to normality too.

“The course is not something unique to him or his celeb status. Anyone could have done the same. It usually leads to a ban being reduced by a quarter.”

Ant and Anne-Marie enjoyed a plush date at Wimbledon last week

Ant’s outing comes just over a year after he was banned from the road following his drink-driving conviction.

He was arrested in March, 2018 after smashing his mini into another vehicle in south west London.

The presenter was later found to have been over the drink-drive limit, and pleaded guilty during a court appearance the following month.

He was sentenced to a 20-month driving ban and ordered to hand over £86,000 – Britain’s largest ever drink-driving fine.

Ant returned to work on BGT after a year off

Ant took the rest of the year off to concentrate on his sobriety.

He returned to work in January this year for the auditions of Britain’s Got Talent alongside long-term friend and co-star Declan Donnelly.

This week it was revealed that Ant has begun work on the 2019 series of I’m A Celebrity after being forced to withdraw ast year and replaced by Holly Willoughby.

Ant and Dec, both 43, are believed to have filmed a hilarious skit titled Two Men and a Boat, which shows them rowing towards Australia.

The pair are battered by bad weather and get lost, but they eventually make it Down Under.

The promo is set to air on TV later this year as the countdown to the new series begins.

Mirror Online has contacted representatives of Ant for comment.
