The fact that it’s still 95 degrees around here makes it hard to think about fall fashion.

We felt the same until we took a look at these top styles for the upcoming season and found ourselves dreaming of that first crisp day and how we might feel wrapped in a top trend when it happens. If you’re still convinced that it’s too early to start thinking about your fall wardrobe we’re betting that these 7 top trends will get you excited enough to change your mind and plan accordingly.

1.    Blanket dressing

We’ve loved quilted fabrics as outwear for a long time but get ready for the look to transcend into skirts, tops, and pants that will make getting out of bed a lot more appealing. Don’t worry we’re talking figure friendly versions of your favorite comfort wear.

2.    Leather

Always a favorite when it comes to cooler weather, consider switching from  basic black to a softer brown. Perfect when it comes to toning down with neutrals, but also destined to be a best friend to our next trend.

3.    Bright neon colors

Think highlighter pink, chartreuse and electric blue. Maybe designers decided a cold, gray day needed something to wake everyone up or maybe these happy but sophisticated shades weren’t quite ready to say goodbye after the summer but they are here to stay for fall and the perfect way to spice up everything in your closet.

4.    Animal prints

Safe to say that this one never goes out of style, and showing your spots is just as strong as ever. Choose zebra, leopard, python, you name it and it’s coming in strong for fall.

5.    Relaxed suiting

We’ve come a long way since the bow tie and matching suits that women once wore as staples of a working wardrobe. These looks are suited up with looser fits, skirts with pleats and jackets with the softest styles.

6.    Statement coats

Every smart woman knows that a coat makes the first impression and can hide the exercise clothes you’ve been wearing all day or just add to the fabulous outfit you have on underneath. In any case, this year we will be seeing lots of classic military shapes, faux fur and cool puffers. This might be the perfect place to add some of those neon colors?

7.    Slip into satin

Satin is back and not just for evening. We’ll be seeing lots of party looks in the old favorite but we also love a top to pair with denim or a silky dress shirt for the office.
