Black Friday 2019 fashion deals: best black friday clothing sales – harpersbazaar.com

It is now less than a month until the Black Friday fashion deals drop and we’re gearing up here at Harper’s to fill some serious gaps in our wardrobes.

Once an eye-roll inducing affair that conjured up images of supermarket-goers fighting over wide-screen TVs, Black Friday is now in every fashion brand’s annual calendar. And, yes, that includes the luxury market.

In fact, Black Friday has now overtaken Boxing Day as the biggest sale of the year. Which is convenient, to say the least, because it just so happens to be the perfect time to shop for Christmas gifts, as well as festive evening wear.

So if you’re excited to purchase a new party dress, stock up on wardrobe staples or invest in some new jewellery, now is the time to shop. We’ve curated a list of the best Black Friday fashion deals to bookmark ahead of 29 November, based on last year’s deals.

Monica Vinader

Monica Vinader went big on Black Friday last year, knocking 30 per cent off everything full price on the site, as well as introducing daily deals of up to 50 per cent off selected lines. The sale lasted nearly a whole week, giving customers plenty of time to decide on their purchases. The brand has confirmed it will indeed be taking part in Black Friday 2019, but as for the deals, we are yet to find out.

Appealing to women of all ages, the brand’s beautiful jewellery is ideal for Christmas gifting; so start planning your presents now ahead of 29 November. On our wish list? The green onyx Siren earrings, loved – and worn a lot – by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Browns Fashion

Having celebrated Black Friday for the past two years, Browns Fashion has confirmed it will partake in 2019 – although it won’t disclose details right now. Given that the department store dropped a blanket discount of 20 per cent off full-price items last year, we’re hoping for something similar for 2019. The luxury department store has confirmed that the sale will start on 28 November this year, one day before Black Friday.

Missoma

Missoma hasn’t confirmed whether it’s getting involved in Black Friday 2019, but the retailer has taken part for the last few years. The jewellery brand was one of the few that actually ‘gave back’ on Black Friday 2018, teaming up with women’s environmental charity Tree Sisters to ensure one tree was planted for every order. The aim was to offset the brand’s carbon footprint, as major shopping events inevitably have a hefty environmental impact.

Missoma was equally as generous to its customers as it was to the planet, discounting everything on the site by 25 per cent. We’re hoping for similar offers this year.

Mango

On Black Friday 2018, Mango dropped a promotional code for 30 per cent off absolutely everything full price on the site. This included womenswear, footwear, accessories, menswear, its excellent plus size range and kids clothes.

Arket

Arket did things a little differently on Black Friday last year, dropping daily deals (with up to 25 per cent off) according to colour. The sale started on the Monday, with blue items from womenswear, menswear, homeware and kids discounted, then there were green items on Tuesday, white on the Wednesday, red on Thursday and, of course, black on the Friday.

This was a particularly panic-inducing set up, because while the full sale was available over the Cyber weekend, most of the good items had been snapped up long before. We’re hoping things will be a little easier in 2019.

SHOP NOW

Beach Cafe

Resortwear e-tailer Beach Cafe has already released its Black Friday deals for 2019 and they’re exciting, to say the least.

Customers can get 20 per cent off everything full-price on the site, including luxury brands like Loveshackfancy, Faithfull the Brand, Rhode Resort, Melissa Odabash, Heidi Klein and Marysia. The offer will begin two days before Black Friday, and run through the Cyber weekend until 2 December.

One of the few businesses giving back on Black Friday, Beach Cafe promises to offset its Carbon footprint on the big day. Meaning that for every Black Friday purchase made, one tree will be planted.

Edge of Ember

Another brand being considerate of the planet on Black Friday is Edge of Ember. The demi-fine jewellery label promises to be carbon positive, not just carbon neutral, on the sales day. Its using Black Friday to launch the Positive Purchasing initiative, promising to offset 10 times its carbon footprint during the sales period.

How exactly does this work, you might ask? First, the brand worked with Climate Care to estimate the carbon emissions produced through shipping Black Friday orders in the UK and internationally. Then, it invested in LifeStraw, a carbon-offsetting and clean water initiative in Kenya, to balance these emissions (find out more about how carbon offsetting works here). This project will continue long after 29 November, with the brand striving to be totally carbon neutral at every point in its supply chain from now on.

As for the discounts? From the day before Black Friday, until Cyber Monday, customers can get 15 per cent off solid gold items and 25 per cent off everything else full-price.
