Wild Apple Gallery and Gifts will close at the end of the year.

The longtime business has been a staple on Menasha’s Main Street for 12 years. Prior to that, it had La Pomme Rouge and Wild Apple galleries in downtown Appleton over a span of four years.

Owners Mary Jo and Joe Weidert bought and renovated the current building at 210 Main Street in Menasha in 2006, and Mary Jo has operated the art gallery, glass art studio and gift shop there since 2007.

The shop’s expanded gift side included work by local artists and crafters plus clothing and accessories. It hosted more than 60 art exhibits showcasing local and Midwestern artists.

Mary Jo made a decision two years ago that she’d like to retire to spend more time with Joe and family. They put the business up for sale.

“Unfortunately to this date, no buyer has been able to come up with financing, so Mary Jo has decided to liquidate her inventory and fixtures by the end of the year,” said Joe in an email. “A store-wide clearance is currently in effect.”

Gift certificates will be honored through the closing sale.

Mary Jo will continue to make custom and wholesale glassworks, and can be contacted via email at [email protected]
