Miss Universe mix-up

Steve Harvey is involved in another Miss Universe mixup, four years after he announced the wrong winner in 2015. On Sunday night, he named Miss Philippines Gazini Ganados as the 2019 winner in the National Costume category, but Miss Malaysia Shweta Sekhon came on stage to accept the prize and attempted to correct Harvey by saying “It’s not Philippines, it’s Malaysia.” Harvey said it wasn’t his mistake.

“Well, let me explain something, I just read that in the teleprompter,” Harvey said, before turning to producers in the control booth. “Y’all gotta quit doin’ this to me. I can read! They are trying to fix it now, but this is what they did to me back in 2015.”

ET reports the incident was even more confusing later Sunday when the Miss Universe organization confirmed that Harvey and their teleprompter were correct — Miss Philippines Gazini Ganados won the National Costume category. It’s still unclear why Miss Malaysia came on stage, though.

Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi, meanwhile, was (correctly) crowned the Miss Universe 2019 winner during the event at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ trailer

Gal Gadot is lassoing lightning in the new trailer for “Wonder Woman 1984.” Patty Jenkins directs the ’80s-tastic sequel following Amazonian princess Diana of Themyscira and the resurrected Chris Pine as they face the evil Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). “WW1984,” also starring Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord, opens June 5.

‘SNL’ highlights

Jennifer Lopez hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and delivered a solid episode that featured her green Versace dress, a lively performance of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” with the Rockettes, and hip-hop Christmas carol versions of songs by City High and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Other “SNL” highlights included a NATO cold open (with Jimmy Fallon as Trudeau and James Corden as Boris Johnson), Kenan Thompson as Darius Trump, J. Lo flirting with Chad (Pete Davidson) to A-Rod’s chagrin, and two skits downplaying Lopez’s beauty.

‘Reno 911’ returning

“Reno 911!” is returning for its seventh season, 10 years after it ended in 2009 on Comedy Central. Series creator/stars Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Thomas Lennon are all coming back for the revival on Quibi, an upcoming mobile-only viewing platform that will focus on episodic short form content. Quibi will reportedly launch in April, and the cop comedy will likely arrive sometime later in 2020.

‘Free Guy’ trailer

Ryan Reynolds is a video game character who learns his game is about to be unplugged in the first trailer for “Free Guy.” Shawn Levy directs the comedy that will draw comparisons to “Stranger Than Fiction,” “The Matrix” and maybe “Virtuosity,” with a cast that includes Joe Keery, Taika Waititi, Lil Rel Howery, Camille Kostek and Channing Tatum. “Free Guy” opens July 3.
