WASHINGTON – Erica Reid, a nationally recognized leader in the healthy lifestyle sector, has joined EWG’s board of directors.

Erica Reid is a noted author and the founder of nécessité, a global healthy lifestyle brand that empowers consumers to embrace and support clean beauty brands and other sustainable products, from home and interior to food and fashion.

Reid is the author of “Shut Up and Cook!,” a collection of modern, healthy and easy-to-make recipes, and “The Thriving Child: Parenting Successfully Through Allergies, Asthma, and Other Common Challenges.” She and her husband, LA Reid, a noted record executive, music and film producer, and author, live in Los Angeles with their two children.

“When I was on this journey over 18 years ago of making more mindful health choices for my family and me, I had no support,” said Reid. “I was left alone to figure it out. I am very thankful to know like-minded individuals today have more guidance, support and direction to aid them in their quest for better health, with a great organization like EWG there to help. I am proud to serve as a member of the board.”

“Erica’s journey into healthy living has motivated and inspired countless others to take steps to protect themselves and their families, and I’m thrilled she will now bring her considerable experience and passion to EWG,” said EWG President and fellow board member Ken Cook. “Erica’s appointment to the board comes at an exciting time, as EWG begins thinking through our next phase in consumer empowerment and market change to better protect the environmental health of all Americans.”

Reid joins fellow board members Michelle Pfeiffer, Meg Cadoux Hirshberg, Laura Turner Seydel, Dr. Harvey Karp and Nina Montee Karp, David Baker, Robert Fetherstonhaugh, Christine Gardner, Barbara Paldus, Mark Hyman, M.D., C.J. Kettler, Elise Museles, Randy Paynter, Drummond Pike, William Ross, Kim Rozenfeld and Ken Cook.
