Reader question: Just wondering why there are so many newer, top-model vehicles parked at the Fox River Mall? I noticed there are at least 50 in the vacant Sears parking lot, 50 or so in the vacant Younkers parking lot and 50ish in the JCPenny parking lot. And they are all from different states.

Answer: I was able to reach the real estate agent representing Younkers.

“The cars in the Younkers lot are from Enterprise,” said Elizabeth Ringgold, partner/senior commercial real estate advisor at NAI Pfefferle. “With the travel bans, they have more cars than they have room to park them.”

A representative from Enterprise Rent-A-Car confirmed that the cars around JCPenney and Sears are also theirs.

Cars at other mall entrances belong to workers and customers for stores deemed essential, like Target and optical businesses.

See foxrivermall.com and click on individual store names in the directory to find hours and phone numbers for stores that remain open and freestanding restaurants that offer carry-out.
