Akron Children’s Museum: Online offerings include S.T.E.A.M. Akron Civic Theatre: Is asking folks of all ages to submit a video of them singing a song from an upcoming show. Songs should be no longer than two minutes. Akron Symphony Orchestra: The ASO Radio Hour will be a limited-run rebroadcast of some of the most popular concert performances from the Orchestra’s archives. The series will run every Friday at 7 p.m. on the orchestra’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/AkronSymphony) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/akronsymphony/). Each broadcast of the ASO Radio Hour will only be available for 72 hours before it’s put it back into the archives.

The Akron Zoo: Offers Lunch and Learns on Facebook at noon daily. The videos feature zoo animals and staff. The videos will be live several days a week for people to engage with the zoo and ask questions during the live broadcast. http://akronzoo.org.

Apollo’s Fire: In response to the coronavirus shutdown, Apollo’s Fire has launched “Music for the Soul,” a series of online programs featuring concert videos, interviews, and related reading. For more information, go to https://apollosfire.org/music-for-the-soul/.

Barberton Public Library: Closed until further notice. The CLEVNET eMedia Collection through OverDrive or Libby provides popular audiobooks, eBooks, music, magazines and videos for download. Body Temple Fitness Studio (BTF): Each day at 10 a.m., trainers from Body Temple Fitness live-stream a high intensity interval training workout on the gym’s Facebook and Instagram pages (@btfstudios), then upload the video that same day to YouTube for individuals to follow along at home. Canton Museum of Art: Current Exhibitions: Reflections: The Artistic Spirit of Merv Corning; Symbolic Narrative: Ceramics by Taylor Robenalt; Patient Work: Watercolors by J.D. This is a virtual event, broadcast live from the Canton Palace Theatre. Cleveland Ballet Company: Offering live streaming classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, instructed by Gladisa Guadalope. Cleveland Museum of Art: All events and programs are canceled through June 30. Cuyahoga Falls Public Library: Closed until further notice. Online offerings: MakerSpace Orientation at 5 p.m. Thursday, learn how to use the equipment that is a part of our MakerSpace in this virtual tour. This orientation will include demonstrations for the Cricut, VHS to DVD converter, button makers, die cut machine and more; Riverfront Readers Book Club at 7 p.m. Thursday, meeting on the library’s Facebook feed for a discussion of favorite books and recent reads. Hudson Library & Historical Society: Closed until further notice. The library will host a series of live virtual meditation classes on Monday mornings at 10 through June 8. A member of the Center for Health, Happiness and Chan, a local non-religious, non-profit organization, will lead the one-hour morning meditation class using the Zoom platform. Separate registration is required for each meditation class – join one class or come to all four. Participants will be emailed an invitation to meet on Zoom a day before the program. Kent State University’s School of Fashion Fashion Show 2.0: This completely virtual extravaganza will highlight the hard work of senior design and merchandising students. Fashion Show 2.0 promises to embody an eclectic assortment of styles, materials, concepts and processes of completed garments. The format will showcase the work of 45 student designers, which were personally selected prior to COVID-19 pandemic by a panel of industry critics to be displayed on the runway in the original live show. More than 140 looks will be featured throughout the event – all designed by seniors. Mahoning Valley Historical Society: Noon Thursday, May21, Bites and Bits of History lunchtime program for the Spring/Summer 2020 series. Virginia Draa, Ed.
