Reopening

Best Buy’s two Appleton-area stores are among the chain’s 800 stores reopening today, Monday. To date, both have been open for curbside pickup and by appointment.

On Monday, customers can shop without an appointment, but capacity of stores will be capped at 25 percent and they’ll enforce physical distancing.

Employees will wear masks and “we ask that customers shopping in our stores also wear face coverings, and we will provide them for those who need them,” the company said in a release.

It added dedicated times for elderly and vulnerable shoppers, from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Shredfest change

Due to concerns over potential exposure to the coronavirus, Fox Communities Credit Union postponed its annual paper shredding and electronics recycling event.

It was supposed to take place Saturday.

It has been rescheduled for 8 a.m.-noon Aug. 15 at the same site, the Fox Cities Stadium parking lot in Grand Chute.

“Pushing it back made the most sense for all of the people involved,” said spokeswoman Heather Wessley. The drive-thru event draws about 1,000 cars and has a large volunteer staff.
