Last month, “Jersey Shore” star Jenni “JWoww” Farley was posing with her estranged husband on a red carpet in New York City, alongside their young daughter, but her divorce has taken a turn.

Roger Mathews, whom the TV personality wed in 2015, has been served with a temporary restraining order, according to Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department. Farley filed for divorce in September citing irreconcilable differences.

“At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14th, 2018 police were dispatched to the home of Jenni Farley and Roger Mathews for a civil matter,” Messina said in an emailed statement to USA TODAY Friday. “Mr. Mathews was served with a Temporary Restraining Order and provided transportation to another location.”

Farley, 32, addressed the incident on Instagram on Friday, sharing a statement, which appears to be from a rep, with her more than 6.5 million followers.

“Certain events transpired last night which lead (sic) Jenni to involve the authorities, as she felt it was in her best interests, and the best interests of her children to do so,” the post read. “Any statements and social media posts depicting anything to the contrary are entirely false, misleading and intentionally designed to cast Jenni in a negative light.

“She is proud to be a hardworking parent who provides for her children,” the statement added.

Mathews has shared several posts to Instagram, one from the back of a cop car.

In another video, he gives his take on the evening’s events.

“I’m the one who called the police because my wife was shouting, swearing, screaming at me, ‘I’m calling the police, I’m calling the police,’ ” he said. “I was like, ‘For what, what did I do?’ Well, she’s screaming in my daughter’s face, ‘Your father is a piece of (expletive). He’s out of here, he’s out of here. I’m sorry I ever had children with him…’ ”

“I called the police to preemptively get ahead of what I thought she was gonna do,” he continued. “I get woken up at 2 o’clock in the morning by the police. She filed a restraining order.”

Farley’s “Jersey Shore” co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi defended Farley on Instagram Friday. Sharing video of what appeared to be Farley asking the authorities for Mathews to be allowed to see his children, Polizzi came to the defense of her pal.

“My best friend has been going through A LOT these past few months and my heart breaks for her,” she wrote. “She always tries to keep her situations off social media for the sake of the kids, but her voice needs to be heard too.

“She has tried everything in her power to keep things civil FOR THE KIDS and she’s a damn good mother,” she added. “She doesn’t leave her kids for months at a time for work. She leaves filming to care for her children that you don’t see.

“She wants nothing but for the kids to have their dad,” Polizzi continued. “Unfortunately she was being taunted and baited & this was the result.

“YOU’RE AN AMAZING MOTHER AND PERSON,” she told her friend, “and all of us who truly know you know this.”
