Construction is underway now at the new Culver’s at 850 W. Evergreen Drive in Grand Chute, immediate north of Meijer.
Its franchisees inked a deal for the property last September, but the $800,000 sale wasn’t completed until Wednesday.
“They couldn’t get the site prepared because of all the rain,” said franchisee Maggie Kauer late Wednesday afternoon. “We just closed on the land today. They’re going to start construction tomorrow. Typically we say about 120 days from construction until we’re open. That’s what we’re shooting for.”
That puts the opening around mid-November.
Kauer owns this location with additional partners including operating partner Amanda Mihalic.
They took 2.35 acres at the corner of Evergreen and a new street called N. Galaxy Drive. The property was covered with small stakes Wednesday and workers with heavy equipment were already moving dirt.
